National Health Education, Information and Communication Centre (NHEICC) is responsible for planning, implementing monitoring and evaluating health promotion, education and communication programmes including periodic survey and research of all health program and services under Ministry of Health. The Centre is guided by National Health Sector Strategy, 2015-2020, National Health Communication Policy, 2012 and National Health Policy, 2014 and operationalise its objectives through this implementation plan.
The centre uses advocacy, social mobilization and marketing, behavior change and community led social change as approaches for health promotion. It designs and implements health promotion activities through Local Health Institutions and District Health/Public Health Offices and supports various health programmes and services to achieve national health goals. The centre is also utilizing multi-sectoral platforms to promote health and well-being. The scope of this center is reflected as following 4 sections:
